Principal  Designer

What we can do for you...

Though you remain the dutyholder, you can require our CDM advice and support with:

  • Design risk management reviews
  • Principles of prevention awareness
  • Identification of surveys required
  • Identification of Pre-Construction Information (PCI)
  • Project Health and Safety File

We can tailor other services to suit the specific requirements of your project. Contact us for full list of services and a brochure.

If it is reasonably foreseeable that more than one contractor will be working on a project at any time, the CDM Client must appoint in writing a Principal Contractor and Principal Designer (this is also applicable to domestic clients).

The principal designer must be appointed in writing by the client. The principal designer can be an organisation or an individual.

The individual must have the skills, knowledge and experience to understand, manage and coordinate the pre-construction phase, including any design work carried out after construction begins.

Where the principal designer is an organisation, it must have the organisational capability to carry out the role.

Contact us for discussing your project requirements and challenges.

We can help you with that!!

Why to use a registered professional?

If you are required to comply with health and safety legislation, you want peace of mind that the person you engage for advice will assist you diligently in achieving compliance. The professional institutions check the skills, knowledge and experience of the health and safety professionals before granting a membership status and require members to follow a Continual Professional Development plan to ensure their knowledge is up to date.
